Vocab Task
This is a Presentation about Kawau Island and the interesting sights and birds that you may see during you holiday there.

I am excited to see many of the native birds because some of their feathers are really fascinating. The other reason is because the activities there look fun!

The History of Kawau Island
Kawau Island is one of the largest islands in the Hauraki Gulf. Kawau was named after the Kawaupaka. Did you know Kawau is one of the most beautiful islands of the Hauraki Gulf and one of the richest in history. Kawau Island was purchased by Sir George Grey in 1862. Sir George Grey had an interest in the natural sciences, and was an enthusiastic collector of plants and animals from around the world. At the time Sir George Grey was serving his second term as governor.

Being A Good Friend
WALT: explain to your reader what being a good friend means
Friends are the people in your life that treat you differently, they make you laugh, they make you cry, but when it comes to friends they're always by your side. Life isnt easy your always gonna get knocked down but remember you’re friends will be there to lift you back up and keep going.
Finding friends isnt easy but in a few years of life you’ll find the perfect ones. They could be tall or they could be short but no matter who they are they’ll always support you, especially when you’re going through rough times. Some of your friends can be a bit unusual but that doesn’t matter, what matters is on the inside not the outside.
When you have friends you don't talk about them behind their backs, and you certainly don’t mock them just to show off in front of others because if you do or have done that nobody would want to be friends with you. If you don’t have friends you’ll never make it through life, you could be all alone because of the stupid mistakes you made as a kid.
The best qualities to find in a friend is respect and honesty. If you want a real friend one thats nice and friendly look for the respectful ones, the ones that listen to the teachers and do the right things on their chromebooks. Honesty is another one, people that tell you the truth or more importantly the ones that don't lie to their parents just because they don't want to do what they say. Honesty is always the best policy.
Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain, its not something you learn in school, or something that you parents taught you. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship then you never had any real friends.
